A contemporary abstract colorist,
Mira Lisa has received training from such prominent
instructors as Françoise Gilot (Picasso’s
enjaneau), Dayna Mason and Karen Russo. A native
to Southern California, Mira Lisa developed
a strong foundation for color, texture, design,
and originality. Her works are a colorful movement
of abstract expressionism. Mira Lisa is strongly
inspired by Chagall, Matisse, Kandinsky and
Van Gogh. Each painting is a visual journey.
To behold one of Mira Lisa’s paintings
is to take an inner voyage where a vibrant and
vital reality merges into daily life.
Privately collected throughout two decades,
Mira Lisa makes her public debut as an abstract
colorist in 2007. The artist resides in Laguna
Beach, California.
She articulates her mission and process with
poetic style:
"As I begin a work, I am struck by what
I am searching for: what I am inside –
an embracing of myself from within. The thoughts
of Paul Gauguin’s words stream through
my mind, ‘Art is either plagiarism or
a revolution,’ a revolution of abandoning
the ego and embracing my true self, the life
intelligence that sees through my eyes looking
back at itself. I seek to share with humanity,
make offerings to humanity, and at the same
time, liberate my spirit with beauty, liberate
my spirit with color."
